United Way NEXT Mentorship Resources
At United Way NEXT, we believe mentorship is one of the most powerful ways to give back and grow forward. Whether you are looking to guide a fellow professional or seeking guidance yourself, our mentorship programs are designed to foster meaningful, experience-based relationships that support both personal and professional development.
We currently offer two mentorship tracks:
CEO and Staff Mentorship is for members navigating a career transition or new leadership role
Endowment and Planned Giving Mentorship is for teams building or expanding their long-term fundraising strategies
Both opportunities are flexible, personalized, and rooted in shared United Way values. Mentors and mentees are thoughtfully matched based on goals and experience, creating space for authentic learning and connection.

United Way NEXT Interim Executive Leadership Resources
When local United Ways face leadership transitions, having experienced and values-driven interim support can make all the difference. United Way NEXT is proud to partner with Interim Executives Academy to help connect members with interim opportunities and provide access to high-quality training, staffing, and placement services.
Through this partnership, members can prepare for interim leadership roles—particularly in Chief Executive Officer and Chief Development Officer positions—and local United Ways can find the skilled support they need to lead through change with confidence.
Whether you are interested in becoming an interim leader or are looking to fill a critical gap on your team, this collaboration ensures that mission-aligned leaders are ready to step in when it matters most.

United Way NEXT Consultant Collaborative
The Consultant Collaborative is a dedicated space for United Way NEXT members who are also independent consultants. This growing network is open to active members with United Way experience who provide consulting services in areas like strategy, fundraising, DEI, leadership development, marketing, governance, and more!
By joining the Consultant Collaborative, you will be part of a trusted peer group that shares referrals, insights, and opportunities. Members have the chance to showcase their expertise, build visibility within the United Way network, and support each other's growth.
This program is designed to elevate and connect the incredible consulting talent already present in our membership. It also helps local United Ways access experienced support from professionals who understand their work and values.
