The RFP Process is closed at this time

UW NEXT is excited to launch the 2025 Request For Presenters (RFP). Are you interested in presenting/facilitating a session to educate, inform, engage, or entertain our members? This RFP is open until November 8, 2024. To learn more, check out the details below.

Focus of the event
United Way NEXT is a place for leaders to network, listen, lead and inspire. When we gather, we feel that profound sense of purpose and belonging that drew us to United Way in the first place. We are seeking presenters for 2025 who wish to educate, inform, engage or entertain United Way NEXT (UW NEXT) members across member segments, including current United Way network staff, United Way alumni, and United Way retirees. Topics must be timely, relevant, and engaging to one or more audiences. Successful programs will enhance particular skills or enrich lifestyle. Programs should be topics of interest to people currently or formerly in the United Way network.
Programs must be:
  • Future focused and action oriented. Presenters may consider a session as a meet & greet for people to build relationships rather than a single topic for an hour.
  • Engaging. All programs should allow for ample interactive time for participants while guiding the outcome. Think of the presenter as a “discussion starter” rather than a lecturer. Impart meaningful content but then engage others to share their experience.
Facilitators/presenters are key for successful sessions. Presenters must be well prepared, know their content, use appropriate technology, and adhere to the specified length of the presentation.

Program presentations in 2023 and 2024 have included: Planned Giving Learning Session and Office Hours, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Roundtables, “Unlock the Power of AI for You and Your Nonprofit Endeavors!”, Wellness Sessions, and more!

Format of the event
All programs are presented virtually with technical support, marketing, and evaluation provided by UW NEXT staff. Proposals may be for a single session/topic or include a series of programs on one topic. Sessions are typically sixty minutes. Sessions may include one or more presenters. Presenters chosen will provide their own visuals and any pre-reads or handouts to United Way NEXT staff for electronic distribution to participants.

Deadline
Proposals must be submitted in writing and dated no later than November 8 for consideration for the 2025 program year. If appropriate, please include the time of year presentation is preferred. United Way NEXT may consider additional proposals throughout the year as topics emerge and staff and resources permit.

Diversity
UW NEXT is seeking diverse presenters who represent a variety of viewpoints, interests and expertise.

United Way NEXT harnesses the passion and experience of current and former United Way professionals for the betterment of each other, the United Way network, and our communities. In achieving this purpose, we aim to create member experiences that enhance a sense of value and belonging by:
  • Embracing the broadest possible view of diversity;
  • Valuing the visible and invisible qualities that make each of us who we are;
  • Believing that every person brings unique perspectives and experiences;
  • Ensuring that the interwoven threads of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access are at work to enhance our members’ experience of belonging;
  • Pledging to hold ourselves accountable for cultivating a culture of belongingness in our various programmatic efforts.
This ongoing journey requires our United Way NEXT staff, board, committees, and members to embrace intentional behaviors and actions to make it happen! Join us as we ensure every person in every community belongs.

Criteria for selection
Proposals will be reviewed by the United Way NEXT Engage and Exchange Workgroup. Selection will be based on the relevance and timeliness of the topic to one or more UW NEXT audiences, the speaker’s expertise in the subject matter, experience presenting online using Zoom and PowerPoint, and the potential impact of the presentation. Successful proposals should include a program synopsis to be used in marketing materials and presenter bio(s).

Potential Benefits
United Way NEXT provides access to current and past United Way professionals and opportunities to network with both potential customers and old friends.  Presenters and their topics will be promoted through social media, newsletters, emails, and United Way Worldwide Global Digest.
