Welcome Carole Peters-Our New CEO!

On Monday, August 8, 2022, Carole Peters became the President and CEO of United Way NEXT. View her Meet and Greet message HERE

Most recently, she served as president and CEO of United Way of Greater McHenry County, IL, a role she held from 2017 to 2021. During that time, she also served on the executive leadership committee of the United Way of Illinois State Association Board of Directors. During her time on that board, Peters helped develop a CEO onboarding program and educational series to support local United Way’s leaders and staff across the state. Also, over the past several years, she’s served as guest faculty at the United Way Great Rivers conference.

United Way NEXT's CEO Search Committee was impressed by Carole's creative and innovative thinking and marketing mindset, which will offer a fresh perspective in connecting our growing and diverse membership for years to come. "I'm delighted to welcome Carole Peters as our NEXT President and CEO", said Deborah Bayle, UW NEXT's Chair of the Board of Directors. "Carole brings a tremendous amount of energy and enthusiasm to her new position, as well as a wealth of knowledge and experience. She is instantly relatable and engaging, and I know our members will enjoy working with her."

Peters brings more than 30 years of management experience to this role, including significant executive leadership experience in business and non-profit organizations, most notably in sales, marketing, finance and fundraising.

​Carole holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Speech and Theater with a minor in Psychology from Concordia University in River Forest, IL and a Master of Business Administration from Aurora University in Aurora, IL.
